i used bonzoyl peroxide for awhile, and it really helped my skin. but then after 3 weeks or so, it would become REALLY REALLY itchy on the skin – with no rash marks or anything.
….is there anything else out there?

Gosh, I’m so glad my skin’s quite perfect, but my big sister has skin like that, too, so I’m going to tell her.

I had the same issues with Benzoyl Peroxide with Proactive…It worked after about three months, but the effects only lasted a month. After that month, I started breaking out again and my face became irritated from Proactiv. So, I had to stop :/
So now the search can continues to find something else for me to use…

WAYNE!!!! I just wanted to tell you that the day you made this video I went to the drug store and bought Cetaphil and a super strong spot treatment (just like the Oxy10) and applied it just like you said…and MY FACE IS PRETTY MUCH COMPLETELY CLEAR!! I can’t even believe it!! I have tried so many things and was recently even on perscription RetinA and this worked better than that! THANK YOU SO SO SO MUCH!! I am so excited!
Really, I can’t thank you enough!

retin-a is like a miricle to me. i was on clindamycin solution with doxy for 2 months but neither of them helped WHATSOEVER >:( , so the Dr prescribed me retin-a which cleared me in a month. its the best thing i hv ever used on my skin. even my friends asked me what i used cus it just killed 99.99% pimples in a month. however, i hv 2 say the red marks took me 6 months to fade. keep up the good work and u will be clear very soon i believe.

i wanna share this. i used retin-a which basically just cleared me 99.99% in a month despite the redness like i was blushing all the time. as some1 who has used retin-a every nite for like 10 months, i feel like some pimples r coming back a lil bit like 1 small clogged pore a month (and i used to hv more than 50 pimples all over my face and no area of my face was clear). u will need 2 add something else to ur routine or up the strength of retin-a to maintain the clear skin.

What did you do about the broken capillaries? I have many on my nose and a few on my cheek. I have had some laser treatment on a few of them but it’s very expensive.

retin-a gives absolutely amazing results. But it is a long and grueling process and your skin will get worse before it gets better “/
best of luck and hope that you stick to it !
I’ve seen the results first hand and they’re incredible if you can deal with the redness and peeling.

I’m 24 now and for years had frequent cystic acne on my chin. About 6 months ago I decided to give benzoyl peroxide a chance; I bought a 10% face wash and began using it on my chin during breakouts. It’s like a miracle cure. These days I use it once or twice when I see a cystic pimple forming — zaps it away.

Thank you. I will definitely give this a try. It is not for me, but for my son…I will keep you informed on how it is going. I have been fighting acne on him for about 6 years now, so hopefully this will work.

I was terribly self-conscious about my skin when I started to get more and more breakouts in my 20s. A co-worker recommended the “Cosmetics Cop,” Paula Begoun’s books to me, I followed her skin-care advice, and my skin totally improved. The basic routine of exfoliating skin with a beta-hydroxy acid (like salicylic acid) and disinfecting with benoyl peroxide really works for me and I’ve been following it for more than 15 years now.

Is there a way to make the purpley spots left behind by the acne fade faster?

thanks for the advice!! I have the exact same acne…its the underneath the skin kind where it feels sore too. Nothing to squeeze…so tried the clinique too and it did not work at all!! It was a waste of money. Then i discovered mario badescu and seems to be the only thing that works. I use the buffering lotion which is made to get the breakouts that are deep under the skin.
